Automatic Weather Stations/environmental logging stations located in the Darwin area:
1. Brown Hills AWS: In the central valley between Lake Wilson and Diamond Glacier - NIWA -Installed on November 16 2004. Click here for AWS metadata. 2. At the foot of the Foggydog Glacier (S 79º 48'03.9'' E 158º 36'05.4") - NIWA -Installed in January 2007 for a NIWA project. Downloaded in January 2008 and found to have been damaged with no data collected. Removed November 2008.
3. Darwin Glacier Summer AWS (79 45.755ºS 157 28.968ºE) - University of Canterbury -Viasala WXT510 sensor and Campbell CR1000 data logger. -Measures: wind speed and direction, air temperature, pressure, humidity, solar and net radiation, ice temperature and ice ablation. -Installed November 2007 to January 2008. 4. Darwin Glacier Winter AWS (79 53.668ºS 158 41.220ºE) - University of Canterbury -Viasala WXT510 Sensor and Campbell 23X data logger. -Measures: wind speed and direction, air temperature, pressure, humidity. -Installed November 2006 with summer data available, but winter data lost due to data logger failure. Downloaded November 2008.
5. Hatherton Glacier (79 56.783ºS 157 11.659ºE) - University of Canterbury -Viasala WXT510 sensor and Campbell CR1000 data logger. -Measures: wind speed and direction, air temperature, pressure, humidity, solar and net radiation, ice temperature and ice ablation. -Installed November 2007 to January 2008.
